Italian breakfast in Hotel Villa Giulia

This was our first accommodation that was not in a city with mazes. It is outside of Marzamemi, more in the country. As you drive in, you are greeted with a lovely entry way and gates to an estate full of blooming flowers, trees and kitties! Our room was great - not overly huge and exactly what we thought as well as private behind some tall shrubbery. We loved the huge pool and bar area where you could escape from the sun. The hotel did supply pool towels to use on their sunbeds. We did have dinner and the following morning breakfast in the lovely, cavernous room that I assume was once where the wine was made. Dinner was great but the breakfast included was amazing. We were in Italy and Sicily three weeks and this was the most impressive breakfast we had during our travels. Eggs, meat, savory items like cheese, sliced meats, yogurt, fruit, a huge assortment of pastries, breads, pies, juice. I'm probably leaving something out but believe me it was a buffet and you could choose anything you liked!

The Hotel Villa Guilia was probably one of the most interesting hotels that we stayed in during our visit to Sicily. It is an impressive hacienda style building with small casitas located around the lovely grounds. Very nice and helpful staff. The outside dining and breakfast patio, looks out onto the swimming pool area. There is a large indoor dining room lined with old wine barrels, providing a rustic, but charming dining environment. The dinner was excellent, a true garden to table experience, with many wonderful vegetable dishes. The breakfast was probably the most impressive that we had enjoyed in Sicily, with lots of homemade pastries and pies. We would stay here again.

Villa Guilia is perfect. This is the place for mature sophisticated travelers who love true luxury - a classy experience without the sophistry of faux luxury - of a beautiful environment, attentive but not cloying service, and spectacular food and wine (their own). Easy to explore baroque city of Noto delights from there and 7 minutes from San Lorenzo beach with white sand and water so clear one can watch fish swimming past. Quaint fishing village Marzamemi is also just around the corner. Be warned, you may never want to leave Villa Guilia...

Beautiful Hotel with great facilities and a great staff - loved the structure which is beautiful, loved the pool and the spacious and clean rooms - staff is very kind and always there to help. Structure has parking which is also very good. Overall we loved our stay. The hotel can also help you to book a nearby beach facility (Agua Beach) for a discounted price which was very useful to skip the lines at the facility when going to the beach - great bonus service!

The staff were incredibly friendly, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The breakfast was just superb, with freshly baked cakes, fresh fruit and a selection of bread and brioche and home made jams. The hotel just oozes atmosphere because it used to be a wine estate. Signs of this era are visible everywhere. We stayed just one night and booked a basic room, but it was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable.
